About Chaseedaw Giles

Chaseedaw has acted in numerous theater and independent film projects in the D.C. area, as well as modeled for various photo projects, some landing in BuzzFeed and NPR. As a hip-hop artist Chaseedaw explores themes of identity. She has performed songs from her hip-hop EP, ‘Daydreaming’ around the east coast, and served as creative director and producer of her accompanying music videos.

As a culture writer, Chaseedaw elevates marginalized voices into the mainstream. Her stories have appeared in national and local news publications as well as magazines. She is also a 2022 Academy Nicholl semi-finalist.

As a screenwriter, she builds characters that are like people often read about in newspapers, but relegated to statistics and buried underneath headlines about gun violence, the opioid crisis, the displacing effects of gentrification — or left out of the news all together. She writes with empathy about what it's like to live those statistics hoping to raise these issues from subculture to mainstream conversation.

Chaseedaw is a creative storyteller that uses music, acting, modeling and screenwriting to create space for marginalized people. She is working to produce larger scale original content, including accompanying music and photographic imagery.
